On the Islamism Identity of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (JDP): A Systematic Review

This paper aims to study the Islamism identity of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (JDP). To date, question regarding JDP’s has been widely debated. The JDP frequently labelled as an Islamist party due its historical background, while other perspectives perceive a non-Islamist party. Contradiction among scholars resulted in several debates existing literature. Therefore, this attempts review previous studies related discussion on identity. Methodologically, Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) was adopted by utilizing two journal databases, namely Web Science Scopus, with support databases. searching process retrieved 24 sources that can be analyzed systematically. As result thematic analysis, three main themes have developed represent arguments identity, party, undergoes shift Finally, present offers some recommendations considered future studies.
